Tosca Strings
T
he 2001 South By Southwest Music Festival began a new chapter in the quartet's history, when they were asked to play a showcase with ex-Talking Heads front man David Byrne. After trying out various string sections on the road, Byrne finally chose the ensemble to begin a long-term collaboration. With the Tosca Strings moniker, the group embarked on two world tours (2001-2002 and 2004-2005) and recorded the 2004 Nonesuch Records release Grown Backwards.

The Tosca Strings have performed on numerous international television broadcasts including CBS's Late Night with David Letterman, NBC's Conan O'Brian, BBC Four's Sessions (where the Live at Union Chapel dvd was recorded) and Later with Jools Holland. The group has appeared with Byrne at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Disney Hall in Los Angeles, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and numerous festival appearances including Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Festival in Reading, England and Athens, Greece, and the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee.
